This report describes the main legal framework for the value chains of the six commodity species (cod, salmon, trout, herring, seabass, seabream) that are the focus of PrimeFish for the European countries: Iceland, Faroe Islands, Norway, United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain Italy, Greece, Turkey as well as Canada and Vietnam. At the national specific level, a subset of countries are included: Norway, Scotland, Newfoundland (Canada), Denmark and Iceland.

On the 20th of October 32 representants of the Spanish seafood industry, retailers and policy makers attended a PrimeFish workshop focused on the seafood consumption. The Northwestern city of Vigo hosted a workshop organised by PrimeFish partner CETMAR and the Galician Union of Consumers on consumers’ perceptions regarding frozen seafood products and the identification of market niches.
On the 6th of October Vigo hosted a PrimeFish workshop on competitiveness, marketing and value chain. Main results of the project together with the market-oriented prediction toolbox for the seafood sector (PrimeDSS), in development, were presented to 17 representants of the Spanish aquaculture, fisheries and processor sector. The main results of the prospective and forecasting analysis will be collected in the PrimeDSS (Prime Decicion Support System) and PrimeDSF (Prime Decision Support Framework) .
From the 4th to the 6th of April the European project PrimeFish, funded by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Commission has presented its first results on the consumption of seafood in Europe. On the 4th and 5th of April, scientists from 11 different countries discussed their latest work on data management, economic performance of fisheries and aquaculture, value chain analysis, market trends, prediction models, support to decision-making, shared value with stakeholders and management of the project.
The PrimeFish project’s Communication plan sets the communication strategy, including goals, target groups, main messages and strategies. This document defines the indicators for the monitoring process and the measures to be taken in case of a communication crisis. In particular, this plan details the activities needed to spread the project’s results and the new knowledge created, among partners, to interested groups and other stakeholders.
The PrimeFish project’s Dissemination Annual Report analysed the dissemination activities carried out during the first year through the diverse messages and strategies set to reach the target groups. This document monitors the actions done regarding internal and external communication, analyses their impact and highlights several conclusions.
This document sets the plan for the PrimeFish website. Time spans, audiences, material and contents are defined along with the guidelines for the development and maintenance of the website, which will be available until 2021.
This report analyses recent productivity developments in some of the most important capture fisheries in Europe. Using data on specific fleet segments, productivity growth has been compared between the demersal fisheries in UK, Spain, Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, as well as the pelagic fisheries in the UK, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
